Single-Visit Dentistry

Discover how Single-Visit dentistry can save you time, allow you to be more comfortable during your visit, and reduce your overall expense. Dental procedures that in the past took days, weeks or even months can now be accomplished in just one visit. That’s right, crowns, bridges, veneers and other dental procedures can generally be diagnosed, designed and delivered in just one visit. No more messy impressions, living with a temporary crown, or multiple visits to make sure the fit and color are correct. You can be in and out of the dental office looking and feeling like new in one appointment!

How does Thornydale Dental offer Single-Visit dentistry? We made the commitment to purchase and be trained on the most modern, high-tech piece of dental equipment known as the CEREC System. The CEREC System allows the dentist to digitally scan the damaged tooth, create a graphical representation of the needed repair, mill the crown in 10-15 minutes, verify the size and color of the repair and place it all in one visit lasting approximately 1.5 hours.

3D Panoramic Imaging

Dentistry continues to evolve with the introduction of new technology. Not only has Thornydale Dental invested in a Cerec machine to provide same day crowns, we have also invested in a 3D Panographic X-Ray machine.

A 3D Panographic machine allows the Doctor to take a more in-depth look into your mouth. It allows the Doctor to diagnose and treat patients with more accuracy. The images show the canals of every tooth (used for Root Canals), how much bone is around your tooth (used for Implants), along with many other uses.

Intra Oral Camera

Intra Oral Cameras are essential in the dental office. These cameras allow us to take close range digital photos of individual teeth. It can show cracks, decay, and other abnormalities of teeth or gums that x-rays do not show.

Digital X-Rays

At Thornydale Dental we use digital sensors to take our x-rays. There are many benefits using digital sensors for x-rays.

  • They reduce the exposure of radiation by as much as 90% compared to using film.
  • They also show 256 shades of gray compared to under 30 shades with film. This allows for better diagnosing because the picture is more defined and less grainy.
  • The digital x-ray is processed and available to view immediately whereas conventional film takes time to process. This means less time at the dentist!
